Kepa Arrizabalaga-7.5

Great save from a Marco Reus free kick early on. Then smart save early in the second half when Chelsea took a 2-0 advantage and Dortmund pressed forward to try and force things. Enjoyed a really good game.

Marc Cucurella-7

The Spainish full-back started at the left side of central defence and provided his most solid performance yet since joining Chelsea in the summer. Sharp in tackles and quick to break forward to support the attack. He just never stopped running.

Kalidou Koulibaly-7

The Senegal international is looking really outstanding at the moment. He was intercepting balls and storming forward in the first half. His organisation of the backline was well appreciated by his manager who kept on applauding every time he did something remarkable. Looks like he’s finally settled in west London.

Wesley Fofana-7

Wesley is still feeling his way back to full fitness but enjoyed a strong defensive display. Used his head when the going got tough. Looks very comfortable in a back three.

Ben Chilwell-8

Chilwell has returned to form and that is seen when attacking, he was full of enthusiasm and his will to get Chelsea across the line was crystal clear. That was also examplified when he run across to clear a chance Dortmund created late on in the first half. He then continued from where he left off by winning a penalty for his side to get a second goal early in the second half.

Enzo Fernandez-6

Still looks a few yards off his best at the moment. He was solid with passing but had a few moments when Dortmund runners just went through him. He needs to toughen up, a good game otherwise.

Mateo Kovacic-7

Mateo was effective with the use of the ball. He occasionally tried his luck from distance and just never stopped running.

Reece James-7

James started the game quite slowly but grew into it by just pinging crosses and sticking with his man. Showed glimpses of getting back to his brilliant best.

Raheem Sterling- 7

The former Manchester City man had a brilliant chance to put his team ahead early on, but hesitated and hesitated and chance was gone. Missed his first kick before finishing off emphatically for the opening goal just before the break.

Kai Havertz -9

The German blazed a chance when through on goal early on but again his off the ball movement was class all game. Then hit the post when a loose ball broke to him. Showed great nerves to score his penalty after missing the first one, he went the same way as the first one in a real show of character.

Joao Felix-6

The on-loan Atletico Madrid man run through on goal early on but gave the Dortmund goalkeeper the chance to close in on him. He had lots of impressive runs off the ball but just didn’t have the finishing touch to go with his technique.

Conor Gallagher- 5

Brought for Felix to try and pack the midfield and see out the game.

Christian Pulisic-5

Given the last 10 minutes on his return from injury.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek-5

Just kept the midfield tight

Denis Zakaria- N/A
