Chelsea player ratings: Alonso and James impress but Lukaku has game to forget v Leicester

Chelsea and Leicester played out an entertaining 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night in Premier League.

The Blues, fresh from being beaten by Liverpool at the FA Cup, fell behind to a James Maddison strike after some brilliant build up play from the Leicester City midfield.

Both goals came in the first half and Chelsea were by far the better side, with both Hakim Ziyech and Romelu Lukaku, who was subdued for most of the game, missing great chances to get the win.

Manager Thomas Tuchel then threw on Kai Havertz,, who missed the FA Cup defeat due to hamstring injury, to try and get the win.

Even though his presence and movement caused problems to the Leicester backline, it was not enough to get the three points.

The Blues will now end what has been a very difficult season on and off the pitch with a home game against already relegated Watford.

That will be the last time defender Antonio Rudiger, once again very instrumental this season, will run out for Chelsea, before his move to Madrid.
