Chelsea had to come from a goal behind to beat Brighton but in the end, they deserved their win.

Chelsea once again proved they are a team on the rise with a comeback win against a previously unbeaten Brighton side at Stamford Bridge.

The win moved them to fourth in the league table, but even more impressive was the manner of the performance. Cole Palmer proved he was head and shoulders above the rest, scoring four times to essentially secure Chelsea's first home win of the season.

Brighton took the lead early, and there had been rumours of tensions between owners Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehly regarding the club’s direction.

However, results have improved dramatically. Eghbali, who attended the game, was even seen urging fans to be patient in a picture captured during the match and posted on X by a Chelsea fan.

Cole Palmer is special

The Englishman proved last season that leaving Manchester City doesn’t have to mean a step-down, but he has taken his game to another level. He became the first player in Premier League history to score four first-half goals, which were more than enough to secure the win.

His form continues to be the foundation of Chelsea’s rebuild, and the owners will be thrilled that they managed to convince Manchester City to let him go. The early weeks of the season were filled with talk of behind-the-scenes chaos, power struggles, and stockpiling players.

But Enzo Maresca has his side playing sparkling, attacking football, with Palmer at the heart of it all. Now that the team is firing on all cylinders, they will hope to build on this momentum, potentially winning the Europa League and even mounting a title challenge after what has been a brilliant start to the season so far.
