He has been a key player for the Serie A side since joining them back in 2017 from Atalanta and has since made 128 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with four goals in all competitions.

Potter is ‘monitoring’ his progress over in Italy and he has emerged as a potential transfer target for the future, according to CalcioMercatoWeb.

Defender injury

Chelsea have been dealt a blow on the injury front with summer signing Wesley Fofana sidelined.

He made the move to London from fellow top flight club Leicester City in the last transfer window but has picked up a knee problem.

In the latest update by the Evening Standard, his injury isn’t as bad as initially feared and his first sets of tests have returned positive results.
