Cheslea have lost two, drawn one and won one of their first four games in the Premier League and need a response.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has his back against the wall when his players return from the international break following their 1-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest.

The former Tottenham boss has seen the outrage on social media and will need to get the team in a shape where they can score goals having improved in possession but still have shades of last season where they just broke down after going a goal behind.

Mykhailo Mudryk the massive signing from January just doesn't look like he’s ready and was once again incredibly underperformed over the weekend.

Raheem Sterling has been the best player for the Blues but he looked shackled in the defeat that has seen former Chelsea man William Gallas question the position the club is heading and insist another new signing Axel Disasi is not ready for Premier League football.

Gallas said: “I was one of the guys who didn’t understand why Disasi joined Chelsea. The Premier League is a different league in terms of difficulty. Even though he is a physical player he has to understand strikers will be very strong when they challenge him.

“He has to improve a lot, but he has the opportunity to play alongside Thiago Silva and he has to learn from him, speak to him a lot, and Silva can help him move to the next step. Even though he has joined Chelsea it doesn’t mean he is completely ready.

“He still has some bad habits and he has to change them. That’s why when I saw his name, I thought he was not ready to join Chelsea. But you have to give him time to settle into a new country, new players and a new club.”

Another player who they’re looking to improve is Nicolas Jackson who missed a big chance at the end of that defeat to Forest. The 22-year-old has played well but Chelsea needs goals, something the Pochettino says will come with time.

He said: “I think in the future we will be talking differently. He needs time to adapt to the Premier League. He is doing a fantastic job but scoring is not easy.

“He is a little bit rushed in his decisions. He needs to be a little bit more calm and relaxed and for sure he is going to score goals.”

The Chelsea boss will also hope that captain Reece James will be able to join the team training after he picked up an injury in the early parts of the season.
