Former Chelsea forward Willian has undergone medical at Nottingham Forest after turning down Fulham’s one-year contract extension offer according to a report on the Evening Standard.

The Brazilian was one of the stars of Fulham’s impressive season last time out, but the club only offered him a one-year extension which he immediately turned down.

The Cottages have since returned with an improved offer which Willian is reported to still be considering but he’s held talks with Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper and has already moved fast to undergo his medical.

The 34-year-old has held his form and kept his body well, he is now likely to sign a deal that will see him eventually end his career at Olympiacos, a club that is affiliated to Nottingham Forest.

Sources say that Willian team’s offered him to Chelsea when talks with Fulham broke down but the Blues turned down the chance as they look to go a different direction.

The Blues have moved on almost 10 players with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang waiting to sort out their future.

In has come Nicloas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku with Chelsea still holding behind-the-scenes talks with Brighton and Hove Albion’s Moises Caicedo to replace long-term servant N’Golo Kante.

Cobham sources say the Chelsea players have had an impressive first two weeks under new manager Mauricio Pochettino as they prepare to head off to the United States for the second phase of their training.

Pochettino is known for bringing the best out of young players and Chelsea fans will hope he makes the desired impact after a difficult campaign last time out.
