Chelsea's top transfer target 'training alone' as Enzo Maresca set to make another big call
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is currently training on his own according to Napoli magazine and was left out of the team that lost to Verona over the weekend, as Chelsea continues to be strongly linked with the Nigerian forward.
Antonio Conte’s side surprisingly lost 3-0, but the former Chelsea manager was asked about the situation regarding Osimhen, who was the lead striker when Napoli won the Serie A title just two seasons ago.

Hide AdConte responded when asked about Osimhen on gianlucadimarzio.com: “I will not talk about players who are not part of the Napoli squad. You all know full well that the Osimhen situation was already there when I arrived and will be dealt with exclusively by the club. I did not get into the situation. You all know that the transfer market is very complicated and [the deal is] currently blocked. I cannot say any more than that.”
In a separate transfer discussion, Chelsea and Napoli are also in talks about signing midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, according to Napoli Magazine. The English midfielder was also left out of the Chelsea team that lost 2-0 to Manchester City over the weekend, with Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca admitting that he would have to make a decision since Chukwuemeka might not get the minutes he wants at Stamford Bridge.
Maresca told LondonWorld when asked about Chukwuemeka: “Carney is a very good player, but because of some injuries in the past, I think it’s important he plays 30 or 35 games in a row. will he do that with us, I’m not sure.”
Last season, Chelsea finished sixth in the league table, missing out on their target of qualifying for Champions League football, which eventually led to Mauricio Pochettino leaving the club and Maresca replacing him. The hope is that they will be able to at least get back to Champions League football, having brought in new, promising players this summer.
