Chelsea head into the World Cup break in poor form after their disappointing defeat to Newcastle United at the weekend. After a positive start to life under Graham Potter, the Blues are now without a win in the Premier League in five matches and have slipped to eighth in the table.

Chelsea will be confident of finishing the year on a positive however, with the London club still to face Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest between Christmas and New Year. With eight points seperating themselves and a top four spot, they will be desperate to pick up some points following the conclusion of the World Cup.

Potter will also be praying that none of his stars suffer injuries in Qatar, with the likes of Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic and Thiago Silva all jetting off this week. The Chelsea boss has already lost both of his full-backs in Reece James and Ben Chilwell only weeks before the break.
