Chelsea have just walked away from a deal for 'talented' £43m star after months of interest

This summer will be massive for Chelsea for both incomings and outgoings as they look to strengthen for next season.

Chelsea have reportedly cooled interest in the pursuit of talented Spanish forward Nico Williams and will focus on other interests as they prepare for a massive summer that will see some leave and others come in.

Chelsea have been one of the clubs that were looking at Williams, alongside Michael Olise of Crystal Palace but the Athletic Bilbao forward recently signed a new deal at the club in Christmas that reportedly has a release clause of £43million.

The west London club would have been happy to press on with that fee as it falls within the module they’re practising, but his wages are reportedly high on the new deal and would naturally want more than the €200,000-per-week he’s on according to 90min.com.

That huge stumbling block has meant Chelsea have reportedly decided to walk away and will now focus on other interests.

Conor Gallagher and other Chelsea youngsters still up for sale

Chelsea have still not entirely ruled out the sale of midfielder Gallagher in the summer despite his fine form that has helped the club turn the corner recently in what has been a challenging campaign.

Chelsea are interested in Napoli's Victor Osimhen but understand they will have to reduce the wage bill and generate money internally before pressing on with incomings.

In the last two transfer windows, Chelsea have spent close to £1billion on players even though they did manage to raise close to £400million of that on exit that saw almost 11 players leave the club last summer.

Other players like Ian Maatsen and Omari Hutchinson could also potentially leave the club permanently if they receive suitable offers after impressing heavily out on loan.
