Chelsea return to action this weekend when they will be looking to continue their fine form.

The Blues have picked up significantly under Graham Potter, now on a run of four wins after seeing off AC Milan in the Champions League. Chelsea face Aston Villa away from home this weekend, and they will be looking to close the gap on those above or, at the very least, consolidate their position in the top four.

Villa have largely disappointed so far this season, but they could be a dangerous opponent given their need to pick up wins.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Stamford Bridge.

Leao blow

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Rafael Leao in recent weeks, but they are not going to get him without a fight. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Serie A champions Milan have offered to triple the Brazilian’s salary in a bid to keep him.

They have also reported a signing on bonus of just under £9million, keen to keep Leao off the market in the winter, and indeed next summer. Chelsea could also pay big, so this will come down to where Leao sees his career going in the next couple of years or so.

Laimer interest

Chelsea are said to be interested in signing RB Leipzig star Konrad Laimer next season. That’s according to BILD, who say the midfielder is high on the Blues’ list of targets.

The report speculates that Chelsea could sign Laimer for free next summer, but if interest grows in the Leipzig star, they could even move to sign him on a cut-price fee in January. This could be one to keep an eye on, with Laimer not appearing likely to sign a new contract.
