Chelsea have reportedly had a bid of £35million for Manchester City’s Cole Palmer turned down with just days to the end of the transfer window.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has said the Blues may look to bring in one more offensive player as they bid to add options to the attacking line with the injury to Christopher Nkunku.

The Chelsea boss said: “If we can add the right profile, yes, but not to bring players so we can add one more. We don’t want to stop the evolution of some young guys, Broja, and Nkunku. Working hard but not to take a decision because we need someone. These two areas we maybe need some players.

“We are trying to find the right profile. The most important is the profile of the player we need to add to the squad so after it won’t be a problem and they can be compatible. That is why it is not easy but yes, we are trying to do something.”

LondonWorld sources say the Manchester City forward is interested in joining Mauricio Pochettino’s team and the interest is driven by Joe Shields who was the former Manchester City director of Academy now at Chelsea.

He also tried to sign Palmer when he was at Southampton but Manchester City held on to him. Chelsea’s interest is now turning heads and it will be interesting to see what they do before the window shuts.

Manchester City sources say they want at least £50million even though ideally Pep Guardiola would want to keep a player he tipped to replace Riyad Mahrez.
