Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking about the team’s business in the summer transfer window and players linked with a move away.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is not ruling out the exit of defender Trevoah Chalobah as talks of his exit this summer intensify ahead of transfer deadline day.

Chalobah has fallen down the pecking order with the arrival of Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill to the first team this season.

Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is strongly linked to the player but Pochettino admits the only reason he’s not been involved in the team is because he’s been injured.

He said after being asked about the defender: “Injured, he will not play tomorrow.”

Pressed on if he was expecting more signings before the transfer window shuts, the Chelsea manager admitted the board was working round the clock to get it done.

“I don’t know to be honest. In the last few days, we have been so focused on trying to recover the player and the Carabao Cup against Wimbledon. I know the club is working very hard to try to finish out business, Something may happen, maybe yes. At the moment, only working and trying the club to deliver what we want.”

The future of Callum Hudson Odoi is still up in the air despite links to Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest but the Chelsea boss admits his situation has not changed and the club would inform fans if something were to happen.

He added: “I am not involved in these situations. I am focused on the team. That is between the club and the player. Nobody communicated that something was finished. When something is done the club will communicate to you.”

Chelsea will take on League Two side Wimbledon in the first round of the Carabao Cup before a league game against Nottingham Forest over the weekend.
