Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo says he feels ‘disrespected’ by Manchester United after a slow start to the season that has mostly seen himbeing left out of the team entirely or sometimes on the bench.

The 37-year-old was said to be interested in a move away from the club in the summer when it became clear he was not going to be the focal point under manager Ten Hag but a deal never materialised and what has played out in public and private has been chaos.

He left early after it became clear he was not going to take part in the game against Tottenham a few weeks ago and has missed the last two games due to unexplained illness. Manchester United now have to make a decision after he claimed he does not respect manager Erik ten Hag.

Chelsea new owner Todd Boehly is a man who is said to hold huge admiration for five-time Champions League winner and tried to sign him in the summer when Thomas Tuchel was manager and will try to bring him to Stamford Bridge in January.

There is belief within the Chelsea board that Cristiano can still be the difference and even though his flames are not as sharp as they used to be, his commercial value to the Chelsea brand is still worth the risk.

Chelsea have lost their last four games in all competitions and go into the World Cup break with a lot of unanswered questions but a deal for Ronaldo will be dependent on the kind of World Cup Ronaldo has and if United will be willing to cut their losses for a man who is regarded by many as one of the greatest to have played the game.
