Chelsea confirm Raheem Sterling’s jersey number and hints of £97.5m striker’s exit

Chelsea have confirmed Argentine World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez will wear the number 8 jersey as he looks forward to his first full season as a Blues player. Raheem Sterling who arrived from Manchester City with wild expectations will also wear the number 7 jersey while Mykhailo Mudryk will wear the iconic jersey number 10.

Exciting signing Nicolas Jackson will take the number 15 while injured Christopher Nkunku will take the number 18, both impressed in pre-season and will hope to have a great first year at the club.

There is however no place for Romelu Lukaku, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech who are all likely to leave the club in the coming weeks. Chelsea finished 12th last season and will hope to at least compete for a top-four finish.
