In the meantime, the club are still hard at work on new signings as they look to add quality and depth to the Blues squad. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Stamford Bridge.
Emegha deal nears
Chelsea are said to be close to agreeing a deal to sign Strasbourg striker Emanuel Emegha on a deal that will kick in next summer. The striker scored 14 times last season and was linked with a number of clubs going into the summer. The Blues are now said to be closing in.
Sports Zone posted on X: “EXCL. Emanuel Emegha and Chelsea FC are closing in on an agreement over personal terms for next summer. RB Leipzig are well aware of this, but have asked Chelsea what is possible, as they are considering Emegha a top priority in the event that Šeško moves.”
Guiu interest
Chelsea striker Marc Guiu could be set for a loan spell heading into the new season, with Premier League newcomers Sunderland reportedly pushing to secure a deal. Guiu is likely to struggle for game time this summer having dealt with injury issues last season, while he now has three strikers ahead of him.
Fabrizio Romano has reported on X: “Sunderland are among 3 clubs asking for Marc Guiu on loan as Chelsea are open to this solution. Chelsea want full salary paid and no buy back clause, straight loan and then back next season. Talks ongoing, as @SkySports_Keith reports.”
Pulisic on Milan form and improvement since Chelsea
Former Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has been enjoying life with current club AC Milan, and he gave an interview this week to explain his new-found form. The attacker told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "Here at Milan, I've been given freedom from the start, and I feel the trust in me from everyone: from my teammates to the coach, from the directors to the fans. By acquiring me, the club has given me a great opportunity, and I have a duty to improve every year, to work hard to always take a step forward in terms of performance. If things go well, it won't be a surprise to me, given what I do both during the year and in preseason to be 100% and give everything I can."
Pulisic was then asked if he feels more at home in ,Milan and with AC Milan than he did in West London with Chelsea. He added: “That's true, although it's easier to say after having scored so many goals in the last two seasons. I'm having a lot of fun at Milan and I want to continue on this path, pushing as hard as I can."
