French World Cup winner N’Golo Kante is back in team training after recovering from a hamstring injury that has kept him out since November 2022.

The midfielder’s return has coincided with progress in his contract talks and the Telegraph is now reporting that Kante is close to agreeing in a deal to extend his stay in west London. The offer will see him remain as one of the club’s highest paid players with a weekly wage around £300,000.

According to the report Cobham has been lifted with the news that Kante and his team agreed to extend his contract at the club after there had been talks that he would move on this summer.

The 31-year-old hasn’t played since the Premier League game against Tottenham- and some fans feel that the team’s recent slump is down to the fact that Kante hasn’t been fit for a while.

Since moving to Chelsea from Leicester in 2016-Kante has helped the team win the Premier League and Champions League while establishing himself as one of the best midfielders in Europe.

LondonWorld.com understands that Kante’s return to full fitness has been welcomed by under-fire manager Graham Potter as he looks to turn things around at the club.

Kante’s teammates are also said to be delighted to have the experienced midfielder back as they believe he could be the difference between finishing in Europe and missing out on it entirely.

Chelsea are currently 10 on the league table, 11 points behind fourth placed Tottenham who they take on this weekend in the London derby.

The game against Spurs might come too soon for Kante but the hope is that he’s able to return for the Champions League second leg tie against Dortmund at Stamford Bridge.
