Chelsea board respond to calls of sacking Graham Potter by backing manager and signing super star-report

Chelsea board have shown support for manager Graham Potter and moved to support him.

Chelsea have moved fast to back under fire manager Graham Potter despite his record standing at one win in the last seven matches in all competitions.

The Blues manager watched on as his predecessor’s name was sung at the Etihad while his side sunk to a 4-0 defeat to Manchester City. In the past, games against City were close and fought to the end, but the manner of the Chelsea effort is quite alarming.

Injuries to key players like Reece James, Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell has not helped with the Blues stuck in 10th on the Premier League table.

The Blues board have moved fast to secure the services of Jao Felix, on-loan until the end of the season according to often reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The deal will be a massive indication to the Blues fans that the current board is bent on succeeding and restoring the club to where it belongs.

The fact that Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool were interested in the Portuguese and he deciding to come to Chelsea is another win to the west London club even at the time the project under Potter is not so clear.

The Blues will now hope that the news of signing of Felix will give them the lift they desire as they go into games against Fulham and Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

They will need to return to winning ways which will buy Potter time and lift moods ahead of their Champions League game against Dortmund in February.
