Brighton suffer double injury blow ahead of crucial Chelsea visit at the weekend

Both Chelsea and Brighton will be missing a combined 16 players due to either injuries or suspension for the game.

Brighton's injury list continues to pile with both Tariq Lamptey and Ansu Fati now ruled out of the visit to Stamford Bridge this weekend.

The Seagulls will also be without captain Lewis Dunk and midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud who have been suspended for the game.

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi confirmed the injuries ahead of their Europa League game this evening: “Igor [Julio] can play. Ansu [Fati] and [Tariq] Lamptey are both injured. We have lost them for a long time, I think.

"But the focus is on the players who can play tomorrow. We will have to compete. I don’t know if we will win, but we will fight to win the game.”

Both Chelsea and Brighton will be missing a combined 16 players due to either injuries or suspension for the game with the Blues without skipper Reece James and Marc Cucurella, both are suspended.

Summer signings Romeo Lavia and Christopher Nkunku are also not expected to take part in the game as well as Ben Chilwell and Wesley Fofana who are both long-term absentees.

Chelsea have won only four league games all season and were crashed at Newcastle last weekend- which has left fans furious ahead of the game at Stamford Bridge.

They have only won once in the league at home and there is pressure mounting on the manager to get the team back to winning ways when they take on the fragile Seagulls.
