'I give everything': 61-year-old manager linked to Chelsea job sends brilliant message to fans

Jose Mourinho won three league titles at Chelsea and has been recently linked with Mauricio Pochettino's job at Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho says Chelsea fans know that he always gives his best after he was asked to describe what it felt like hearing his name being sung by Blues fans recently. Mourinho was the face of the Chelsea project under Roman Abramovich, winning three league titles and multiple cup competitions across two spells.

LondonWorld sources say the new owners are not too keen on bringing the 61-year-old for a third spell even though they will evaluate progress under Mauricio Pochettino in the summer. Chelsea are 11th on the league table and with an evaporating chance of securing European football next season.

The Supporters Trust have recently written to the owners questioning the direction of the club and citing a lack of communication between owners and supporters. The Fan Advisory Board in turn wrote back this week stating categorically that they did not recognise the supporters' claim given the new owners have done more for fan transparency than the previous owner did.

That all has followed fans who sang Jose Mourinho's name during a game at Brentford recently. Mourinho in his response stated why he keeps getting the backing of the fans.

He told Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano in an interview: “The first feeling is, I always say that the best thing football has are the fans. Because the fans don’t make money with football, sometimes they spend money that the family needs and make sacrifices because of the passion for football and especially for the passion with the clubs.

“So normally, they are fair. When the club fans don’t like a player or don’t like the coach for some reason, it’s not because of beautiful eyes, it’s not because of a handsome guy, they love it or don’t love it for some reason.

“In my case, independent of results, of course, I had the luck to have always something to celebrate, something for the fans to have a good memory of me, but something that they see is that you are committed to them, and I’m always committed to my club, fans, doesn’t matter which country which club.

“So I think they have a feeling that I give everything. And because of my personality, in the end, I’m always going to be more than a coach.

“I think the base of everything is that they see I arrive, I wear the shirt and I fight for them.”

In a glittering career spanning over two decades, Mourinho has won 26 major trophies, including two Champions League titles, three Premier Leagues, the Italian League, and La Liga amongst others.
