Chelsea have delved into the market this month to land defender Benoit Badiashile from AS Monaco, midfielder Andrey Santo from Vascos de Gama and forward David Datro Fofana from Molde. It appears the Blues are focusing their recruitment on youth this winter as they keep one eye on the future.
This transfer window is Graham Potter’s first since taking over from Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge after he made the decision to leave fellow Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion for a new challenge. He has until the end of January to bring in some more faces to bolster his squad and hasn’t wasted much time so far.
Chelsea are currently 10th in the table and will be eager to start picking up some more wins during the second-half of the campaign. Here are four players who are likely to join the London club and six who probably won’t....
1. LIKELY: Enzo Fernandez, Benfica

2. LIKELY: Marcus Thuram, Borussia Monchengladbach
His contract is up at the end of the season and Gladbach risk losing him for free if they don’t cash in this month. Photo: INA FASSBENDER
3. LIKELY: Alexis MacAllister, Brighton & Hove Albion
He is likely to earn a big move after his World Cup exploits. Whether that is in January or this summer remains to be seen but the Blues will no doubt be keeping tabs on his situation.
4. LIKELY: Nahuel Molina, Atletico Madrid
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Chelsea go for a full-back and he has been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge.
