Charlton Athletic proved their own undoing as the Addicks made it 12 fixtures without a win in League One against a frustrating Derby County outfit at The Valley.
It was a defensive mishap that saw Nathaniel Mendez-Laing steal through and put the Rams into the lead after 13 minutes of football, which had seen some positive Charlton moments. The hosts struggled to find impetus before half-time and improved showing after the break didn't prove enough to find a way back into the game.
Incoming head coach Nathan Jones watched on from the stands as he grasps the size of his job with a relegation battle looming ever larger for Charlton. Here's how the players fared against Derby County.

Not a great day at the office. Lost the ball close to goal and a culprit of a few bad passes. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

10. Alfie May - 7
Full of running and started very brightly. Dropped slightly deeper in the second half but couldn't really make things happen as his frustrations grew. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

11. Freddie Ladapo - 6
Striker also looked dangerous early doors but his influence dwindled as the match went on. Held the ball up well at times but blasted a decent chance over the bar just before half-time. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

12. SUB - Daniel Kanu - 6
Provided goal threat from the bench and made a nuisance of himself. Had two good chances which he didn't take - one from a Watson cross and another a headed opportunity. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images
