Charlton Athletic proved their own undoing as the Addicks made it 12 fixtures without a win in League One against a frustrating Derby County outfit at The Valley.
It was a defensive mishap that saw Nathaniel Mendez-Laing steal through and put the Rams into the lead after 13 minutes of football, which had seen some positive Charlton moments. The hosts struggled to find impetus before half-time and improved showing after the break didn't prove enough to find a way back into the game.
Incoming head coach Nathan Jones watched on from the stands as he grasps the size of his job with a relegation battle looming ever larger for Charlton. Here's how the players fared against Derby County.

1. Ashley Maynard-Brewer - 5
Not at fault for the goal, but perhaps could have been more alert. Flapped at a couple set plays when he should have collected. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

2. Macauly Gillesphey - 6
Played some nice balls forward and would've picked up an assist had Kanu been more alert. Defensive work left a little to be desired. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

3. Terell Thomas - 5
One of the two at fault for gifting Derby the opener. Moved to left-back at half time and did drive forward well at times. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

4. Lucas Ness - 3
Probably the main suspect for giving Derby the lead. Didn't look sure of himself after that and was dangerously dispossessed close to his own goal a couple of times. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images
