Charlton Athletic eye Premier League coup as Birmingham City prepare to lose £4m hotshot

Charlton Athletic are looking to move up the league next season after a dramatic turn in fortune after the arrival of Nathan Jones at The Valley earlier this year.
Recruitment will be keen to fighting at the other end of the table next time out, with Jones brought in as a manager rather than a head coach so that he can flex his negotiating muscle during the window.

Charlton Athletic linked with Premier League midfielder
Charlton Athletic are weighing up a move for Luton Town midfielder Luke Berry this summer in a bid to reunite the Premier League star with Nathan Jones.
The Hatters star made 17 top flight appearances this term, primarily coming off the bench for Rob Edwards' side, picking up a couple of goals and an assist. Berry has been released by the club after relegation and become a free agent target for Championship and League One clubs.
As well as the Addicks, Darren Witcoop reports that newly-promoted Oxford United are also weighing up a move for the midfielder, who won League One with Luton Town in 2019 before triumphing in the Championship play-offs last season.

Birmingham City star wants transfer
Birmingham City star Jordan James wants to quit the club this summer following relegation to League One.

That's according to BirminghamWorld, who report that the 10-time Wales international has suitors from the Premier League and Europa League winners Atalanta.
Wolves and Crystal Palace are two of the Premier League clubs linked with a move for the 19-year-old in recent windows. Meanwhile, West Ham have joined the race with Julen Lopetegui a fan of the player and newly-promoted Leicester City are also interested.
Birmingham City rejected a £4 million bid from Atalanta for James in January, despite the player's desire to move, and could look to drive a hard bargain in the upcoming window.
