Birmingham City tipped for Peterborough United transfer

Birmingham City face Peterborough United this weekend in a fixture that comes just days after the Blues were tipped to swoop for their opposition's star man in the upcoming transfer window.

Posh sit eighth in League One as it stands and have been spearheaded by the form of Kwame Poku. The 23-year-old has five league goals to his name and is said to be attracting transfer interest.

Peterborough director of football Barry Fry appeared on the Keep Right On podcast this week and teased that Birmingham City could well bid for the forward. He said: “I’m sure Craig [Gardner] will come in for one other player I’ve got and he’ll perhaps come round to my way of thinking. He’s got to pay my money instead of his!”

When pressed for a name, Fry admitted it was a 23-year-old winger who is 'top scorer in the league'.
