The Bees are luring the highly-rated youngster to the Premier League to boost their attacking options.

Lewis-Potter, 21, has been a key player for his hometown club over the past couple of seasons and is now being rewarded with a big move.

BBC Humberside journalist David Burns reports that the Tigers are receiving a fee in the region of £20million plus adds-ons and the move is ‘very close’ now (see tweet below):

Lewis-Potter’s career to date

Lewis-Potter has risen up through the academy at Hull City and was a regular for the Yorkshire outfit at various youth levels before breaking into their first-team.

He played a key role in the Tigers winning the League One title in 2021 under ex-coach Grant McCann by scoring 15 goals in all competitons.

The England U21 international then chipped in with 13 goals in the last campaign to help his team stay in the Championship.

However, Shota Arveladze’s side are now set to be a dealt a major blow ahead of the new season with their star man being lured down to London.

Other Brentford news

In other news, Brentford defender Finn Stevens is attracting interest from the Football League. West London Sport report that Blackpool, Swansea City and Reading are keen to take him on loan.

Thomas Frank’s side have been linked with a swoop for Freiburg forward Kevin Schade, as per journalist Kevin Plettenberg.

The German youth international played 24 times in the Bundesliga last term and scored five goals.
