Thomas Frank’s side have delved into the market to sign full-back Aaron Hickey from Bologna, winger Keane Lewis-Potter from Hull City, goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha from Lazio and centre-back Ben Mee following his departure from Burnley.

Here is the latest transfer news regarding the Bees, both ins and outs....

In terms of options between the sticks, new boy Strakosha will compete with David Raya for the number one spot. Big things are expected of youngster Matthew Cox, whilst Ellery Balcombe has been shipped out on loan to League Two side Crawley Town.

Mee and Hickey have been brought in to bolster the defensive department. That hasn’t stopped Brentford from being linked with a move for Hamburg defender Mario Vuskovic in a report by German newspaper Hamburger Morgenpost. The club has also reportedly had a bid rejected for Leicester City’s Jannik Vestergaard, as per BT.

Despite his contract expiring at the end of June, centre-back Mathias Jorgensen went with the squad to Germany for pre-season but it remains to be seen whether he will be offered a new deal.

Right-back Fin Stevens is a wanted man in the Football League, with Swansea City, Reading and Blackpool keen to take him to the Championship according to West London Sport.

He may well join a host of players who the Bees have loaned out in this window with the club sending Mads Bidstrup to Nordsjælland, Paris Maghoma and Nathan Young-Coombes to AFC Wimbledon, Daniel Oyegoke to MK Dons and Lachlan Brook to Crewe Alexandra.

Moving further up the pitch, Frank has admitted it will be ‘impossible’ to replace Christian Eriksen, who has joined Manchester United. He has said, as per the Daily Mail:

“I would have loved him to stay. He brought a lot of quality to us. We can’t replace that, it’s impossible to replace Eriksen’s quality. But we can hopefully replace it with something different.”

Freiburg winger Kevin Schade is a name that has emerged on Brentford’s radar but the latest report from Kicker claimed their offer was rebuffed by the Bundesliga club.

Sampdoria playmaker Mikkel Damsgaard, who scored a free-kick against England for Denmark in the last European Championships, is wanted by Frank according to Calciomercato.
