Latest news on the transfer front regarding Brentford emerges as they prepare for their next Premier League game

Brentford are reportedly keen on a summer move for Burnley right-back Connor Roberts. The Bees are being linked with a swoop for the Wales international ahead of the next transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail, Thomas Frank’s side are showing an ‘interest’ in the 27-year-old. He has played a key role in his current club’s promotion from the Championship this season.

Brentford could see the Welshman as someone to compete with Aaron Hickey at the back. They moved for ex-Burnley centre-back Ben Mee last summer and their decision to sign him has turned into an inspired bit of business.

Roberts’ contract at Turf Moor expires in 2025 meaning they are under no pressure to sell him yet unless they decide he isn’t part of their long-term plans under Vincent Kompany. He joined the Lancashire outfit back in 2021 and he has since made 67 appearances in all competitions to date, chipping in with six goals and five assists.

Prior to his move to the Clarets, he had spent his whole career to date at Swansea City and had played 152 games for them, as well as having loan spells at Yeovil Town, Bristol Rovers and Middlesbrough to boost his development. Brentford are said to be keen on landing him now and they are currently sat in 9th place in the top flight.
