Brentford desperately need a win having failed to get one since January 2, and are slipping down the Premier League table.

They travel to Norwich who lost 2-1 to Liverpool in the FA Cup, but that could be a blessing in disguise for Dean Smith’s men as the main focus of everyone at the club will be to give their Premier League survival a fair fight.

For Brentford the only positive from their game against Newcastle was the debut of experienced midfielder Christian Eriksen, who was back on the pitch after fighting a cardiac arrest.

Now they need points, as there has been a big shift in form of the teams battling the relegation zone.

Burnley might have lost to Leicester, but they are looking sharper and Newcastle have been a different side since the turn of the year.

Brentford will likely need at least two more wins to be sure of Premier League survival, due to their strong start to the the season.

Brentford injury and suspension news ahead of Norwich match

Josh Dasilva was sent off for a horror tackle on Newcastle ace Matt Targett, and will miss the game due to the suspension.

There is also the long term absence of Tarique Fosu and Julian Jeanvier, but the good news is that Christian Eriksen came through 40 minutes against Newcastle and will now be hoping for more playing time.

An earlier introduction to try and influence the game will be on the cards for Thomas Frank.

There is also the return of lead striker Ivan Toney who looked sharp against Newcastle and will now be looking for a start against Norwich.

The return of Ivan Toney is particularly great news as he brings the best out of the entire team when he is on form and playing with a smile on his face.

Possible formation change for Brentford

Thomas Frank has remained flexible with tactics this season, and has often tried to switch things during the game, but he likes to stick with 4-3-3 and occasionally switch to 3-4-1-2 when he wants to surprise the opponent.

With Toney back, there is feeling that he could go to three at the back and play Toney and Mbeumo as the two strikers.
