Brentford player ratings - 'Victim' 4/10 but 'sound' 7 in heavy Liverpool defeat

Liverpool turned on the class as they put four past Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

A determined Brentford showed early signs of a potential upset at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they faced league leaders Liverpool.

However, Thomas Frank's side's organised beginning to the fixture was soon undone by a classy Darwin Nunez chip after 35 minutes. That goal knocked the stuffing out of the Bees and things got messy when Mohamed Salah was brought on from the bench for his first Liverpool appearance since New Year's Day.

The Egyptian sparkled as Liverpool grabbed three more in the second half to make a 75th minute Ivan Toney goal of little importance. Here's how the Brentford stars rated.

10. Neal Maupay - 7

Another decent showing from the striker, who loves facing big opponents. Caused problems early on but saw his influence fade. Didn't do much wrong in sound showing. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

Not his usual clinical self early on but took his goal well in the second half - he doesn't miss those. Thought he had a second from a header late on but often a frustrated figure today. | AFP via Getty Images
