Brentford attacker Nathan Young-Coombes will link back up with AFC Wimbledon early next week. The youngster has been back with the Bees over recent times as he recovers from an injury.

However, he is returning to full fitness now and will return to League Two to carry on his loan spell, as per a report by the South London Press. He has been out of action since September and will be looking to recapture his form.

Young-Coombes, 19, joined Wimbledon in the last summer transfer window to get some experience under his belt. He was a hit with the London outfit earlier this season and scored three goals in 10 games before injury struck.

His loan manager Johnnie Jackson has said: “He has been in full training with Brentford all week. They wanted him to do a week of training with them. I’m really excited to have him back. He was a big loss for us when he got injured – he was one of the key reasons behind our good start.”

Brentford signed the forward back in 2021 after he previously had spells in the academies at Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Rangers. He has since been a key player for the B team and was handed his first and only senior appearance to date in a Premier League game against Southampton in May.

Young-Coombes is now heading back to Wimbledon and will be eager to show what he can do. They are currently 15th in the table and face Tranmere Rovers away this weekend.
