Brentford enjoyed a relaxed transfer window, bringing in just three new stars to the first-team mix while sending two of their players out on loan. Myles Peart-Harris and Charlie Goode were both sent out to Portsmouth and Wigan respectively while they have welcomed back Ryan Trevitt from his loan spell at Exeter City. Thomas Frank will also have the new additions of Yunus Emre Konak, Hakon Valdimarsson and Tottenham's Sergio Reguilon has joined on loan.

Following the closure of the transfer window, Brentford's director of football Phil Giles has spoken of his side's new signings and is full of praise for what they could achieve. The six-month loanee of Reguilon has a plentiful supply of football at the highest level, having previously played for Real Madrid, Sevilla, and Atletico Madrid as well as Brentford's Premier League rivals Spurs and Manchester United.

Speaking on his club's website, Giles has confessed fortune favoured the Bees as they welcome the Spanish international to their squad. “We needed a left-back this window and circumstances allowed us to sign a very good one,” Giles began.

“Sergio needs regular game time during the second half of the season, and we needed to strengthen the left-back position having lost Rico to injury in September, so the timing of this deal was perfect for both parties

"Sergio is a top-end Premier League player who has represented some of the biggest clubs in the world. He brings valuable experience to the dressing room and has all the qualities that we look for in a full-back: he is very attack-minded while also being a strong one-on-one defender. He is a great fit for us."

Giles was also quick to comment on the "very Brentford signings" the club have also acquired in terms of Konak, Valdimarsson and in Neil MacFarlane's B-team where they have acquired three new members - Beaux Booth (Dorking Wanderers), Ben Krauhaus (Bromley) and Mukhammadali Urinboev (Pakhtakor).

Continuing with his words of commendation around the transfer signings, Giles added: "While Sergio is a player who can improve us immediately, we also brought in players this window with an eye on the future.

“These are very Brentford signings: young players with huge potential who can come on a journey with us. We are excited to work with these players over the coming years to help them realise their potential. We hope they can make an impact."
