Brentford striker Ivan Toney is reportedly on Chelsea’s radar ahead of January. The Blues are weighing up potential signings as they prepare for their first transfer window under Graham Potter.

Toney, 26, has made the headlines this weekend after scoring a brace to help the Bees stun Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. According to a report by Fichajes, he is wanted at Stamford Bridge this winter.

Brentford will be desperate to keep hold of their key forward but interest in him is inevitable. He has scored 11 goals in all competitions already this season and is only three shy of his tally from the whole of the last campaign.

Thomas Frank’s side swooped to sign him back in 2020 from Peterborough United and he helped them gain promotion to the Premier League during his first term at the club by firing 33 goals altogether. He has since had no problems in adapting to life in the top flight.

Toney has also played for the likes of Northampton Town, Newcastle United, Barnsley, Shrewsbury Town, Wigan Athletic and Shrewsbury Town in the past. His contract at the Gtech Communtiy Stadium expires in June 2025 meaning the Bees are under no pressure to cash in just yet.
