Brentford’s Mads Bidstrup has insisted he is happy under contract side amid links to FC Copenhagen. The youngster is currently out on loan at Nordsjælland.

The right-back, who is 21-years-old, has been on the books of the Bees since 2020 and has made 14 appearances in all competitions for them to date. However, he was given the green light to head out the exit door temporarily in January of this year to get some more experience under his belt.

He spent time in the academy at Copenhagen as well as having spells at Herfølge Boldklub, Brøndby IF and RB Leipzig and a potential return to the Parken Stadium has been touted. However, the player has revealed his stance on his current situation, as per a report by Tipsbladet:

“I am of course happy that I am being linked with a big club like FC Copenhagen. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s not really concrete for me. It’s people talking, so I can’t really relate to that right now. Firstly, I am on loan at FC Nordsjælland and secondly, I am still under contract at Brentford.”

He added: “I’m insanely happy up here and in Brentford. So my first priority is to do as well here so I can play my way into a Premier League club.”

Bidstrup is under contract at Brentford until 2024 and penned an extension this past summer which suggests he remains part of their long-term vision under Thomas Frank. The London side are currently 11th in the table and are back in action this weekend against Nottingham Forest away.
