A look into Brentford’s January transfer window

Brentford’s transfer policy over recent times has been impressive and other clubs will no doubt follow their lead over the next few years. The Bees have an ability to recruit top young players with the view to potentially selling them on in the future.
Attacker Kevin Schade has become their latest arrival from Freiburg and they will be hoping he can adapt to life in the Premier League as quick as possible. The 21-year-old has scored five goals in 29 games in the Bundesliga so far in his career.
Brentford are currently 9th in the table after picking up 26 points from their opening 18 games so far this term and beat Liverpool 3-1 in their last league outing. They have a chance to bring in more players before the transfer window ends at the end of the month. Here is a look at four players they are likely to sign and six who they probably won’t....

1. LIKELY: Ross Stewart, Sunderland
If any team are going to lure him away from Sunderland this month it will be a Premier League one. He fits the bill for Brentford and would provide great competition/cover up front for Ivan Toney. Photo: Frank Reid

2. LIKELY: Bosun Lawal, Celtic

3. LIKELY: Morten Hjulmand, Lecce
He is said to be on Thomas Frank’s radar and would add more depth to the midfield department after catching the eye in Serie A.

4. LIKELY: Ryan Fraser, Newcastle
His time at Newcastle is coming to an end and Brentford have been mentioned as a possible next destination along with Southampton. Photo: Jan Kruger
