Thierry Henry believes Arsenal have a genuine shot at winning the Premier League title and are 'exactly where you want to be' at this point of the season.

Arsenal look set to be involved in their second title race in as many seasons after sewing together an excellent run of form in the new year. The Gunners have won all of their last six league games and scored a whopping 25 goals in the process.

Mikel Arteta's side led the race for much of last season before being overtaken by an imperious Manchester City, but they are not as flawless this time round and neither are Liverpool. Arsenal have the added experience under their belt this time round and Henry believes they can go all the way.

“Yes, especially the way we've been playing since the beginning of the year.” Henry told Sky Sports when asked if he believes Arsenal can win the title. “The way we put pressure [on opponents], we don't concede, the way we defend as a team.

“People were saying we needed a striker, I was pretty loud that we need to put the ball in the back of the net, that's very important. You kind of doubted a tiny bit as an Arsenal fan, because of what happened last year, because the two teams you're chasing have been there and done it. But the way we are playing right now is outstanding.

“I just think the story at one point was that set-pieces kept them in the title race and not conceding. We all know that, and the front three were not scoring enough goals. But we were creating chances and now we are scoring them. We were always there or thereabouts - the FA cup game against Liverpool, Villa away that we lost 1-0, we had chances but didn't put the ball in the back of the net.

“Some of those [more recent] games we scored some crackers to win. We are right now exactly what you want to be, a well-balanced team.”
