'That being said' - Harry Redknapp makes worrying Arsenal prediction over £52m man

Former Premier League manager Harry Redknapp has shared his admiration of Arsenal's recent top flight form but fears that Mikel Arteta's men may come up short against Manchester City this weekend.

The Gunners face the Cityzens at the Etihad on Sunday afternoon in a match that could decide the outcome of the Premier League title race. Arsenal currently sit top of the table on 64 points with Manchester City in third, just one point below the London outfit. Liverpool are level on points with Arsenal in second place.

Last time Arteta and Pep Guardiola met, it was Arsenal who emerged triumphant at the Emirates Stadium thanks to a late Gabriel Martinelli goal. Recent form would suggest another Arsenal win, but Redknapp is not so sure.

In his Premier League predictions, he told BetVictor: "What a game this is. It’s usually around this point of the season that Manchester City really turn it on and go up a gear, can they do that this year? A win here, and I think they’re the team to beat once again.

"As for Arsenal, it’s all been building towards this game. The form recently has been just fantastic, so many goals, so many lads playing well. That being said, they were in a similar spot last season, and they couldn’t get the job done in the games against City. Do this side have the belief that they can go to City and get the job done?

"I just don’t know if I’m ready to trust this Arsenal side. City and Pep Guardiola just know how to win these big games, they’ve been doing it for years. The crowd will be up for it, the big players will be up for it, and I think they’ll get the win. Who knows though, I can’t wait!"

The former Tottenham Hotspur and QPR manager went on to demand more from City talisman Erling Haaland, admitting that the striker has 'not quite looked at his best recently'. Haaland has been unstoppable since arriving at Manchester City for £52 million in 2022, but has just four goals since the start of 2024. Redknapp added: "As I always say though, big players make the difference in the big games!"
