Mikel Arteta’s men are currently top of the Premier League, but the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham are just a point behind them.

This weekend’s derby clash will be a huge test of Arsenal’s credentials, and it will be interesting to see how they stand up having recently lost to Manchester United.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Partey replacement links

Arsenal boss Arteta is said to be ‘concerned’ about midfielder Thomas Partey.

Partey has done a solid job when he has played since his big-money move from Atltico Madrid, but he has struggled with a series of injuries.

The midfielder has had recurring injuries that he has not been able to overcome, and The Sun say Arteta is now becoming concerned.

The Spaniard is said to be contemplating signing a replacement for Partey in the January transfer window.

Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz has been linked, but the Brazilian would surely be more a case of adding competition.

Arsenal would have to spend significantly to outright replace Partey, even with Albert Sambi Lokonga showing encouraging signs.

Jesus inside story

Arsenal faced tough competition in their successful bid to sign Gabriel Jesus in the summer.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who told the Que Golazo Podcast: “It was not easy to sign Gabriel Jesus because many clubs wanted him.

“Many clubs in England especially, he told Man City he wanted to try something new and clubs started to approach Jesus.

“I can mention Tottenham and Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain also had an interest in Jesus as a possibility, they had many conversations, but Arsenal were convinced about Jesus as their top priority and he wanted to be one of the most important players in his new team.”
