Gary Neville mocked after Jamie Carragher Arsenal transfer verdict and the reaction is brilliant

One Arsenal fan could not resist poking fun at Gary Neville after Jamie Carragher’s assessment of the Gunners’ summer business.

Mikel Arteta has added to his squad significantly this summer, spending big to land the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Arsenal will be desperate to go one better this term in their bid to land Champions League football, and there is plenty of excitement ahead of the new season, which starts this weekend.

The excitement only grew when the Gunners thrashed Chelsea 4-0 and Sevilla 6-0 in their final pre-season clahes.

After those performances, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher said: “I think the signings Arsenal have got are really good. I think Jesus is a great signing.

“Look what Arsenal have done in pre-season. I know it’s pre-season games, but to beat Chelsea by that score line was pretty impressive.”

Those comments sparked an impersonation from one Arsenal fan named ‘MaidenTaiwan’ on Reddit.

He wrote on Reddit, claiming Neville would say: “At the end of the day, what have Arsenal really done?

“They’ve added two castaways from City and a player to compete with their new captain. I have to say, I’m a bit perplexed by it. And I watch the preseason games, and the Arsenal players are celebrating like they’ve just won the league. Over a preseason game!

“Just look at the talent Man City have added, and Liverpool — and Arsenal are miles off those clubs!

“And Tottenham have now got Richarlison, and Bissouma. Chelsea have brought in Sterling and Koulibaly.

“Proper footballers. You can’t discount the experience, Jaime. And now United look like they’ve done a coup to steal Arsenal’s top target and keep Cristiano Ronaldo.

“He’s like a new signing, Ronaldo! But what have Arsenal really done? I think they’re going to struggle, I really do.”
