Arsenal weigh up £30m offer for Premier League star as transfer windfall close

All the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours as Mikel Arteta and his men prepare for the big kick-off.

Arsenal are now closing in on the new Premier League season, and they have wind in their sails.

It has been an impressive pre-season campaign for the Gunners, who rounded off their summer preparations with a 6-0 hammering of Sevilla over the weekend.

Mikel Arteta’s men should be on cloud nine heading into Friday’s league opener against Crystal Palace.

In the meantime, the Gunners will be considering further additions to their squad - as well as outgoings - as they look to strike the perfect balance.

And with that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal continue to be linked with a move for Chelsea star Timo Werner.

The German forward is being linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer after making it clear he wants more regular football.

And Defensa Central say the Gunners could now be lining up a cheeky £30million bid for Werner, who cost Chelsea more than £40million just two years ago.

Pepe latest

Gunners flop Nicolas Pepe is said to be interested in a move to Newcastle United.

The Magpies have been linked with Pepe as they search for attacking reinforcements, and Arsenal will be willing to sell.

The Gunners have not seen the best of Pepe since spending just over £70million on him two years ago.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Pepe would welcome a move to Tyneside.

Jacobs told GiveMeSport: “I think that midtable clubs are interested in him, but I don’t think he’s interested in playing at that level of the Premier League, although Newcastle would interest him because they’re going to challenge for the top six.”

Leno deal

Arsenal are expected to wrap up the sale of goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

The German has fallen out of favour in recent times, with Aaron Ramsdale taking his spot last season.

According to The Athletic, a deal has now been struck with newly promoted Fulham for the sale of Leno.

The deal is expected to be worth £8million.
