Arsenal will still be keeping an eye out for potential transfer targets in the final two weeks of the January transfer window, still bidding to catch Liverpool. The Gunners gained two points during the week, moving within four points of the Reds having played a game more.
Mikel Arteta has lost striker Gabriel Jesus for the season due to an ACL injury, and they are now even more thin on the ground at the top end of the pitch. That could force the Gunners into the market, especially with Bukayo Saka also sidelined for a couple of months due to a hamstring issue.

Hide AdArsenal have already been linked with potential targets aplenty, but they are yet to take serious steps towards a capture, still weighing up their options, while Arteta has made it clear he will only pursue the right opportunity.
“When you have to recruit a player, there are three parties and you have to agree to that,” Arteta said in his most recent address. “We have our limitations like any other club, so we can do what we can do. We plan our squad and we have our limits to do what we want to do, and that's it. So the fact that I love our players a lot doesn’t mean we’re doing nothing about improving - I am not that stubborn.
“We all want the same, so we use every opportunity to improve the squad daily, and when the market comes in and we can do that too, we’ll make sure that we have the best resources and the best capacities to compete in the manner we want.”
One area Arsenal are always alert to is the emerging young talent around the globe, and to that end, the Gunners have been linked with Rosenborg midfielder Sverre Nypan who, at 18 years of age, already has 53 league appearances for the Norwegian club.

Hide AdNypan is a four-time time Norway under-21s international, and he is being tipped as a possible future back-up for fllow Norwegian Martin Odegaard. Fortunately, Nypan is also an admirer of the Gunners, and he is said to be open to a move to the Emirates Stadium.
David Ornstein said on The Athletic FC podcast: “There are young players that will be on their agenda now. I know I reported recently like Nypan from Rosenberg, one of the top young midfielders from what I’ve heard across the game, he’d be very keen on a move to Arsenal. They like him!”
