Arsenal 'plotting' stunning transfer move for in-demand £34m Bundesliga target
The Gunners are eyeing up Bundesliga winger ahead of Wolves Premier League clash
Arsenal are reportedly planning a shock move for the Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman. The latest reports from Football Insider have suggested that the Gunners are eyeing a season-long loan for the Frenchman and while the Bundesliga club appear to be happy for him to depart the Allianz Arena this summer, they would require an option or obligation to buy after any loan deal.
Sources are said to have indicated that the 28-year-old would be keen to make the move to the Emirates but would need assurances over his playing time. The winger is said to be one of a number of wide forwards being tracked by the Gunners with Mikel Arteta keen to strengthen the position with few options to help cover England star Bukayo Saka.
Coman’s reported availability has since alerted clubs across Europe who are now said to be monitoring his situation with a late move in mind, according to Insider correspondent Pete O’Rourke. If the Gunners are serious about acquiring the Frenchman’s services, they will subsequently face a lot of heavy competition from the continent’s most elite clubs.
The report also mentions that a fee Bayern would want for an option or obligation to buy would be ‘between €30/40m’ (£25.6m/34.2m)
Coman signed with Bayern Munich from Juventus in 2017, having previously spent two seasons on loan at the club. He has gone on to make nearly 300 appearances for the German giants, scoring 63 goals and providing 66 assists. The 28-year-old’s trophy cabinet is also filled with a Champions League, Club World Cup winner’s medal as well as 26 further domestic trophies from Germany, Italy and France.
The Bayern winger would consequently bring a huge amount of experience into the young Emirates dressing room but if game time is what he is after - after seeing his game time reduced to 27 games last season - the dominance of Saka on the right-hand side of the pitch could put off the ex-PSG star from making the move to the Premier League.
