Arsenal will ‘bid’ again for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice as they look to lure the 24-year-old to the Emirates Stadium this summer, according to reporter Fabrizio Romano on Twitter. The Gunners have seen their first offer knocked back by the Hammers as their London rivals hold out for the best price tag possible for their most prized asset.
Rice, who had a spell in the academy at Chelsea as a youngster, has risen up through the youth ranks of his current club and has become a key player for them in the middle of the park over recent years. They will face a real battle to keep hold of him over the next couple of months, with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Bayern Munich also linked recently.
Youngster could leave
As detailed in a report by The Athletic, there are ‘serious doubts’ over whether young Arsenal midfielder Ethan Nwaneri will pen a new contract with the club. His deal expires at the end of the month and Chelsea, City and United are believed to be keen on snapping him up.
Nwaneri, who is an England youth international, joined the Gunners at the age of nine back in 2016. He became the youngest player in the club’s history when he came off the bench in a league fixture against Southampton last year.
