Arsenal are said to be set for a cash boost as they consider their transfer possibilities.

Arsenal are set to land a cash sum as they continue to scour the market for winter recruitments. The Gunners could do with another attacker to add to their squad as they look to catch up with Premier League leaders Liverpool, who are currently six points ahead having played a game less.

A striker would be ideal, but with Bukayo Saka out for at least a couple of months, and with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard having not quite lived up to expectations this season, a winger is also required, meaning some sort of striker and winger hybrid is the most likely solution.

Though, Arteta has made it clear that the right opportunity would have to become available to Arsenal for them to make a move this month. After all, the Gunners have spent significantly over recent years, and they do have to walk the line when it comes to Profit and Sustainability rules, although the number of departures last summer and the likelihood of further departures next summer among the current players out on loan does give them more wiggle room.

Arteta has said: “Whatever is in the market, we’re very alert, but the priority is working with the players that we have at the moment and tomorrow night, which is a big night for us. It’s not a yes, it’s not a no!”

The good news for Arsenal is that they are now set to welcome a cash boost in the form of Mika Biereth, who is on the move again just months after leaving the Emirates Stadium. The striker left Arsenal to join Sturm Graz after a successful loan spell last season, a deal Edu Gaspar will have negotiated, and after scoring 11 goals in 16 league games, he is now on the move again, to France.

And the Gunners hold a sell-on clause in the deal that will land them some sort of cash boost as they continue to scour the marker. Fabrizio Romano has tweeted: “EXCL: Mika Biereth to AS Monaco, here we go! Agreement reached and medical on Friday. AS Monaco director Thiago Scuro closed the deal for €13m fixed fee plus €2m add-ons to Sturm Graz, Arsenal had sell-on clause. 2003 born Danish striker travels to Monaco tomorrow.”
