Arsenal are said to be positioning themselves to make a move for Barcelona star Dani Olmo in the case he cannot be registered with the La Liga giants. Olmo is in danger of spending the rest of the season unregistered due to La Liga spending rules, with the attacking midfielder in limbo.
While Barca remain confident of resolving the issue, if they do not, one likely solution is to send Olmo on loan until the summer, when he will be able to be registered pending any other spending and offloading Barca manage. Football Insider say Arsenal are monitoring the situation and that they will make a move if Barca don’t get their way with La Liga.
Nypan interest
Arsenal are also said to be interested in Rosenborg midfielder Sverre Nypan this month. According to journalist David Ornstein, the goalscoring midfielder has emerged as a potential target.
He said on his Athletic podcast: “What Arsenal, like many clubs, will be doing is looking for young players for the future, some of the best in Europe. We’ve seen Tottenham doing it with the likes of Archie Gray and Bergvall, Arsenal doing it too. I speak to people across the game that, I don’t know if I get this pronunciation right, but (Sverre) Nypan, who is playing for Rosenberg, he’s coming through central midfielder, very highly thought of, and Arsenal really like him, but I’m sure others do as well.

And it’s not necessarily what everyone is going crazy about because these big names dominate the market, but it is often sensible and it’s within financial parameters that allow you to hopefully compete with your rivals going forward. So yeah, I don’t expect Arsenal to be one of the most active participants in this market, but the way this industry works, Arsenal always seem to be a topic of conversation in transfer windows.”
Arteta on fatigue
Arsenal boss Arteta has responded to claims of fatigue within his squad. He said: “If we lose the game, or draw the game, it’s going to be down to that. If we win and today we score three that we should have scored, the story would have been different.
“It’s incredible - they’re tireless and how they try in every single action, but I don’t even want to talk about that. We have so many games coming up, big ones, and the team really wants it.”
