Arsenal are set to spend big on attackers during the summer transfer window as they aim to win a Premier League title.

Arsenal will be looking ahead to next season as their title battle with Liverpool looks all but over.

The Gunners dropped points in consecutive matches with a 1-0 defeat to West Ham and a 0-0 draw to Nottingham Forest. It left them 13 points behind Liverpool, who look set to win their first league title under Arne Slot.

With that in mind, Mikel Arteta will be looking towards the summer transfer window to add to his squad, giving them the best shot at winning a league title next season. The attacking options have been limited for Arteta this year due to a lack of depth and injury struggles, so the club is likely to invest heavily in that area of the pitch.

Solid Arsenal defence remains unchanged

Goalkeeper: David Raya

Defenders: Myles Lewis-Skelly, Gabriel, William Saliba, Jurrien Timber

Arsenal’s biggest transfer challenge in defence will be to keep hold of star centre-back William Saliba, who has reportedly attracted transfer interest from Real Madrid. If they can keep hold of the Frenchman, he will likely partner up with Gabriel yet again next season, as the pair have become one of the best centre-back partnerships in world football.

18-year-old Lewis-Skelly has emerged as a real talent in defence, and he will likely hold the left-back spot for several years to come under Arteta. Jurrien Timber makes up the back line after what has been a good year for the Dutchman.

Arsenal land La Liga midfielder

Midfielders: Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi

The Gunners do however look set to add in midfield, as reports emerged in January saying that they had agreed to pay Real Soceidad midfielder Martin Zubimendi’s £51m release clause.

It hasn’t been confirmed by either club, but a summer move for the Spaniard looks likely. He will come in to replace the likes of Jorginho and Thomas Partey, whose contracts expire at the end of the season. Zubimendi played a key role in the Euro 2024 final as he replaced Rodri at half time and did an impressive job in holding midfield to help secure a 2-1 win over England.

Other than Zubimendi, Arsenal can’t really improve in midfield with Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard providing two of the best midfielders in the Premier League. It is beginning to look like a title-winning side.

The Gunners finally sign a marquee striker

There is no doubt, if the Gunners line up with this front three next season, Premier League teams will be scared. Bukayo Saka has faced injury problems this season, but despite that, still remains one of the best wingers in the world, and certainly one of the best players in the Premier League.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with signing Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, as they look to improve their options on the left hand side. Williams has a £48m release clause in his contract, and looks set to leave Bilbao this summer. He starred for Spain at Euro 2024 with two goals and one assist. He netted the opener in the final.

With Williams and Saka on the wings, all they need is someone to put the ball in the net, and who better than Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

The Swedish international has scored 19 goals in the Premier League this season, and could be available for sale should the Magpies miss out on a Champions League place.

He remains a top target for Arsenal, although due to his £120 million price tag, they may have to sell a couple of players in order to fund a move for the 25-year-old attacker. He has also attracted interest from title rivals Liverpool.
