Arsenal are being linked with a summer swoop for Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi. The 22-year-old is facing an uncertain long-term future at Stamford Bridge and is currently out on loan in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen.

The Guardian report that the Gunners are ‘tracking’ his situation ahead of the next transfer window with it ‘unlikely’ he will be staying with the Blues when he returns. He has been with the London club for his whole career to date and has made 126 appearances in all competitions, scoring 16 times.

Another midfielder was looked at

Mikel Arteta apparently looked at Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi as a potential alternative to deadline day recruit Jorginho. Arsenal ended up landing the latter on a permanent deal from Chelsea.

However, they considered Zubimendi as they weighed up possible options in the middle of the park. That’s according to reporter Fabrizio Romano who has told CaughtOffside: Martin Zubimendi is one of the players Arsenal also considered for their midfield, but Jorginho was a good option and they decided to proceed for him because Mikel Arteta is big fan and wanted Jorginho when the Moises Caicedo deal collapsed.”
