Arsenal may need more than one addition in the attacking department this summer, according to a former player.

The Gunners are currently looking to add to their front line as they look to take the strain off Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka. Both players have been relied upon heavily in recent times, especially in Emile Smith Rowe’s absence, and the issue has worsened following an injury to Gabriel Jesus which has ruled the striker out for at least a couple of months.

Eddie Nketiah has stepped up to the plate with impressive performances, but over the coming months, it seems Arsenal may well need more help to deal with the loss of Jesus, especially as they compete for the Premier League title, as well as other competitions.

That’s something former striker Kevin Campbell has highlighted, telling Sky Sports News that Arsenal’s potential signing of Mykhaylo Mudryk may not be enough.

“Obviously, Jesus has been out injured, Eddie Nketiah has come in and done a terrific job, but it’s still fire power that Arsenal lack,” he said. “You look at their bench, it’s great to see Emile Smith Rowe come back, but it’s not enough.

“Mudryk would be a really good addition, but I still think they need another striker. Rumour has it they were interested in Tammy Abraham, and I think that would be a good alternative as well.Chelsea, you saw them make the move for Joao Felix, could they do with another? Probably. In that top four or five, you are looking at Arsenal to need a striker, City have the ultimate striker up front.”

Arsenal do seem to be prioritising the signing of Mudryk, with a striker signing potentially coming afterwards, but the Gunners could also do with another centre midfielder, and having spent a huge sum in the summer, they may need to go without strengthening one of those areas in the pricey winter window.
