First linked to the club in November, it is reported the Canadian stopper will undergo a medical with the club in January before being presented to the media, where she will then compete with Manuela Zinsberger for the number one jersey.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper has spent the last three years in the Damallsvenskan with Vittsjö, featuring over 70 times for the Swedish side after joining from American outfit North Carolina Courage in December 2018. A full international, D’Angelo has 12 caps for Canada and was part of the 2016 Summer Olympics squad that won a bronze at the event.

In November, Vittsjö confirmed D'Angelo would depart the club and she subsequently linked with a move to Arsenal. It appears the deal is now edging nearer to completion.

In a seperate tweet, Swedish journalist Amanda Zaza also linked talented Danish midfielder Kathrine Kuhl and Benfica star Cloe Lacasse as another two players Eidevall has on his radar in January.

Kuhl has long been touted as one of Danish football’s brightest stars. The 19-year-old already has 21 caps for her country and was part of their Euro 2022 squad last summer. Meanwhile, Lacasse would provide a huge boost for Arsenal’s forward line after both Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema suffered season ending injuries at the end of the year.

The 29-year-old Canadian striker has scored an impressive seven goals in nine games in the UEFA Women’s Champions League and has been in fine goalscoring form in the Portuguese top tier this season.

The club are expected to be busy in the transfer window and it is believed an agreement to sign Ajax’s Victoria Pelova is already nearing completion, while Brazilian free-agent Debinha has also been heavily linked.
