Arsenal are still holding off Manchester City at the top, but they face another tough test this week, facing a Liverpool side desperate to get back on track, but not before taking on Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Saka contract boost

Arsenal are said to have agreed a deal in principle to sign Bukayo Saka to new terms.

The Gunners have been working away on the deal for some time, with Saka one of their prize assets.

According to Football Insider, they have now struck a breakthrough, agreeing a new deal in principle. Saka is still on an old contract, which means he is at the lower end of the earners at the Emirates Stadium.

According to the report, he will now become one of the best-paid players, earning around £200,000-per-week. If true, that’s a huge boost for Arsenal, with Saka always going to attract interest, given his ability.

Rashford interest

Arsenal are said to be keeping an eye on Marcus Rashford’s situation at Old Trafford.

According to Football Insider, the Gunners are watching the situation in case they get the opportunity to sign the forward on a free transfer next summer.

Rashford is out of contract after this season, but United do have the option of extending the deal by 12 months.

It’s unlikely they will allow Rashford to leave for free with that option in place, but Arsenal are said to be keen on landing the England international in any case.

Crucially, even if United do extend the deal, they may be forced to sell fo a cut price fee down the line if they can’t agree a new contract.
