All the latest Arsenal news as the Gunners prepare for a huge test against Newcastle United.

Arsenal return to action on Sunday when they face Newcastle United away from home.

The Gunners likely have to win all of their remaining games while hoping Manchester City slip up to win the Premier League title, and the clash with the in-form Magpies is going to be a huge test. Mikel Arteta’s men head North knowing the title is now unlikely, especially given City’s form, but all they can do is do their own job at this point, and whether they manage it or not, it will be a useful lesson in managing pressure for a squad that is still inexperienced at the very top level.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Saliba hint

William Saliba continues to dominate discussion amid a lack of progress in contract discussions.

The defender is out of contract in 2024, and there have been reports of interest in the centre-back given he is yet to commit his long-term future at the club. But Saliba doesn’t look like he will be packing up his bags any time soon, currently working towards a return to fitness.

The Frenchman has posted images of a new gym being installed in his London house on Instagram, suggesting he is planning his long-term future.

Frimpong claims

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen starJeremie Frimpong ahead of this summer, but it seems as though they have fallen behind in the race.

According to Sport Bild, Manchester United are in ‘advanced negotiations’ with the full-back, with Erik ten Hag reportedly keen to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer. Arsenal may need more depth at full-back themselves, with Kieran Tierney being linked with an exit, but Frimpong may wind up getting away from them.

It’s claimed Frimpong will cost around £30million this summer.
